Power Kiosk Expands to New Markets

By | blog | No Comments

Welcome back everyone! It has been quite some time since our last blog post. With 2 months already gone in 2019 we have some important news to keep everyone updated with. The team has been hard at work, using our partners’ constructive feedback to advance our Energy Brokerage Platform! Our Finance team has been running commission audits and have exciting news for our partners. Also, there are several important updates regarding some suppliers that we want to make you aware of. At the top of this list is the news that Great Eastern Energy has gone bankrupt! Read below to find out what this means for you and your business.

Great Eastern Energy Bankrupt

Yes, you read that headline correctly. The electricity and natural gas supplier, Great Eastern Energy, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after finding themselves $61 million in debt. GEE offered both electric and natural gas supply to roughly 54,000 customers in four northeastern states. GEE will no longer service electric customers in the New England ISO areas. However, they plan to continue natural gas service for the time being, therefore we will continue to keep everyone updated on this development. So, what exactly will this mean for our partners and GEE’s existing customers? Partners: reach out to all of your GEE customers and advise them to stop paying any outstanding or future electric bills owed to GEE. Additionally, shop for a replacement supply contract through the portal for an immediate start to avoid any holdover rates on their bills!

Supplier Specials For Partners

Engie Resources is now offering a boosted commission pay-out of up to 3 years upfront. Therefore, you will receive up to 3 years’ commission within a month of singing the contract! Better cash flow for you and your business, yet another way Power Kiosk helps our partners scale! AMBIT Energy has dropped their electric prices by 2 mils until March 15th! Now is the perfect time to check out how competitive these price drops are. In other news, SFE is now accepting deals with all load factors across the USA on matrix!

Canadian Market Now Open

Just as the rest of our Energy Brokerage Platform is growing we are now moving into new markets! We are now active in both the Alberta and Ontario provinces of Canada and looking to expand. Currently we have matrix rates and custom bids from 4 suppliers and are in the process of adding more! Stay tuned for future updates as we continue to expand into this market.

Commission Audits

The Finance team here at Power Kiosk continues their hard work from the start of 2019, running audits for our partners. In January, they were able to find a total of $27,880 of unpaid commissions from suppliers on residential enrollments! It doesn’t end there; this month they uncovered $17,000 and $10,000 in unpaid commission from two different suppliers! That is a substantial amount of money going back to our partners! We are grateful that you have trusted us as your business partner and will continually find ways to provide added value to you.

Platform Improvements

There are several featured platform updates that everyone should know about. In an effort to enhance our ability to support our partners, we have rolled out our new ticketing system. Since this new system is developed in-house, a third party log-in is no longer needed. Our new ticketing system is integratable and expandable as well! We have developed a new interactive Power Kiosk service territory and supplier coverage map within the dashboard. You can find this interactive map under the “Suppliers and Markets” tab on the Marketing Page. Do you have any feedback regarding updates you would like to see within the platform? Open a ticket in the new ticketing system or send us an email at support@powerkiosk.com.

New Partner Referral Program

As we continue to grow we have come across multiple requests from our partners regarding a referral program. After all, it only makes sense to reward our partners for their continued loyalty. Starting March 1st, if you refer a new partner to the Energy Brokerage Platform and that new partner achieves 5 confirmed residential deals or 1 confirmed commercial deal, you will receive a $100 credit to your account! Just be sure they mention you upon enrollment!

Power Kiosk June Newsletter

The team has been quite busy this quarter, pushing hard on our mission to deliver transparency, choice and intelligence to the energy sales professional. You might have noticed the better reporting on commissions and future forecast energy data already, or the eight new suppliers that have joined the platform, and if you really paid attention, our new website. Read on to learn more, we’re so glad you are here!

Quarterly Platform Enhancement Update

We are very proud of our US-based software development team and are committed to bringing our partners substantive, tangible improvements each time we write one of these Newsletters. We are constantly evolving and here are the highlights since we last spoke:

Energy Futures Forecast Data

Under the Graphs and Charts section, upon selecting the Utility and other data, select a future date and you will now see a future pricing forecast. The data, powered by the CME, will give you intelligent, data-based, talking points to discuss with your clients. Understanding the market’s consensus of the future can certainly inform today’s product decisions.

Actual and Estimated Future Commission Report

Dubbed “Commission Audit” under the Reports interface, is a mission critical report that provides insights on your earnings today as well as estimated future commissions. Future commissions are an extrapolation of signed contracts, expected customer usage, and the supplier payment terms.

Eight New Suppliers On-Boarded to the Platform!

This might be a record. Our Platform team has been busy expanding the reach and deepening the competition in the markets we serve. Remember, with Power Kiosk, you are able to sell across state lines, both electricity and gas. We’re at 70+ suppliers and growing with our sights set on Canada in the back half of 2018. Energy Markets Insights

  • In May, NYMEX traded at $0.2821 per therm. Storage levels have remained high. Gas continues to pose a great opportunity for our brokers.
  • Florida and Kentucky are great markets to attack gas contracts.
  • There are also nice deltas in both Massachusetts and Maryland for electricity
  • Due to capacity prices nearly doubling in Northern Illinois, the projected tariff rate for ComEd customers has increased from 7.1 cents per kWh to 7.54 cents per kWh.
